About Cody Chess

Chess analysis should feel like a conversation

Cody is an AI chess coach built to help players understand their games. It combines chess-engine analysis with conversational AI, then explains positions, plans, threats, and mistakes in plain language beside the board where they happened.

Why Cody exists

Traditional engines are excellent at finding moves, but an evaluation number and a principal variation do not always teach the idea behind them. Cody translates that analysis into practical explanations and lets players ask follow-up questions until the position makes sense. The goal is useful understanding that a player can carry into the next game.

How players use it

Players can start an in-app coached game, review a finished game, import recent games from Chess.com or Lichess, and practice tactical positions. Coaching works through text or live voice, while arrows and highlights keep each explanation connected to the board. Cody is designed for study and post-game learning, never assistance during a competitive game.

Clear about the limits

AI-generated coaching can be incomplete or wrong, so Cody grounds position evaluations and move comparisons in chess-engine analysis and presents them as educational guidance. The product is still evolving, and the team uses player feedback to improve the clarity, reliability, and usefulness of every coaching session.
